HOPE Nevis contributes to 8th Annual Summer Job Attachment Programme

Minister of Social Development and Youth in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) Hon. Hensley Daniel, urged almost 50 students from the island’s secondary schools, to apply the new work ethics they had been exposed to during the six week Summer Job Attachment Programme in their daily lives and show the difference.
The Minister addressed the students on Friday at the closing ceremony for the Department of Social Services - Youth Affairs Division’s 8th Annual Summer Job Attachment Programme. The event was held in collaboration with HOPE Nevis Inc. at the Red Cross Building with representatives from the private and public sectors that had employed the students in this year’s programme, in attendance.

HOPE hosts successful Kids Carnival

Exciting! Fun! Successful! were just a few words used to describe the third annual Anti-crime Kids Carnival hosted by HOPE Nevis Incorporated on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Villa Grounds, Charlestown.
Acting Chairperson of HOPE (Helping Our People Excel), Mr. Lavorn Lawrence explained that the five year old charity group had collaborated with the Bank of Nevis Social Club and the Ministry of Social Development in an effort to make this year’s event bigger and better.

HOPE Nevis announces its annual Kids Carnival

The members of Helping Our People Excel (HOPE) Nevis Incorporated, a five year old charity group has announced that their annual kids carnival annually held in August would be held this year in honour of child month, on April 30th.
The carnival whose premier sponsor is Brown Hill Communications is usually a big hit that is well looked forward to by children already in the celebration mode as the event normally coincides with the Culturama celebrations.

I browsed through an article written by you and published in the February 4th edition of the St Kitts Nevis Observer newspaper. I didn’t turn the other page to actually finish the article as I caught the gist of the article, had a good laugh and went on my merry way. It was not until I got a few calls and bbms from angry HOPE members that I realised you were not merely attacking Hensley Daniel but also HOPE Nevis. I well expect you as a CCM to throw blows on my uncle or any member of the NRP. I believe anybody in politics should have broad backs to take blows and so that is not my problem. My problem is not when you attempt to sully Hensley’s performance as a Minister of Government but when you attack the organization that is HOPE Nevis.
